OSHAWA, Ont. – The 2018 women's volleyball Adidas Cup is underway and after day one the host Durham Lords finished first in their pool. The Lords kept everyone on the edge of their seats all day as both victories took five sets and were the only team that used all five sets in a game.
Durham started their tournament hot taking the first two sets over the Cambrian Golden Shield (OCAA), before dropping the third and fourth. The deciding set was a close contest as Durham took it 15-13 to win the match 3-2 (25-18, 25-19, 25-27, 21-25, 15-13)
The second match Durham played was a back-and-forth affair with Sherbrooke (RSEQ). Durham won all odd numbered sets of the game match, while Sherbrooke took sets two and four.
Durham Lords (2-0) will now face Canadore (1-1) on Saturday at 9 a.m. on Court 3 at the CRWC.
