Bill Crowdis
Inducted November 23, 2006
Bill Crowdis was born in Langley, BC in 1976 and began his storied collegiate career at Durham College in 1996. In just his first year, the standout basketball player quickly established himself as a premiere player in the OCAA. He helped lead the Lords Men’s Basketball team at Burnaby, BC to the CCAA National Championship title in 1997 – first ever National title in school history. He was named a CCAA National Championship All-Star that freshman year. He then went on to even greater success at DC being named a CCAA All-Canadian in 1997-98 and a CCAA Academic All-Canadian the following year. Twice, he was named Durham College Male Athlete of the Year and he led the entire OCAA in scoring in 1998-99 averaging 25.7 ppg. All-Star awards were abundant for the 6’7 forward, capturing OCAA League All-Star honours twice; OCAA Championship All-Star recognition and OCAA All-Star Game MVP in 1998.
For all of these amazing accomplishments he was named to the OCAA All-Millenium team for Men’s Basketball which recognized the 12 best college basketball players in the history of the OCAA. As a result of this significant honour he was automatically inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame
