Samantha Langford was born in Oshawa in 1974 and grew up in Prince Albert, Ontario. She began her exceptional 4 year collegiate career at Durham College in 1993. Prior to graduating with two diplomas in 1997 (one in Sports Administration and the other in Marketing), Sam made an instant impact in her first year as a two sport athlete. As a member of both the Volleyball and Fastball teams she helped lead the Lords to a provincial OCAA Silver Medal in both sports. All told in her 4 years, she won 5 OCAA provincial medals, 2 silver in volleyball and 2 silver and 1 gold in fastball. She was named an OCAA All-Star in Women’s Volleyball twice; Women’s Volleyball Team MVP twice; and was named OCAA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player in 1996. She capped off her award winning collegiate career by having her DC Volleyball Uniform #4 officially retired by the Athletic Department.
