One of the most successful varsity coaches in Durham College history, Michael Duggan returns to the Lords golf program in 2019 as head coach, having previously led the program from 1997-2013.
On the men's side the Durham Lords captured five provincial titles, while earning a medal in six straight Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) championships under the guidance of Duggan from 2001-2006. He parlayed that provincial success to the national level as well, guiding the men's squad to three straight Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) silver medals from 2004 to 2006, and national bronze in 2002 and 2012.
A program highlight, the Durham Lords women's team also found incredible success under Duggan, capturing back-to-back CCAA gold medals in 2010 and 2011. He was named both OCAA and CCAA coach of the year in 2010. The women also reached the national podium in 2005, earning silver, and 2004 with a bronze.
Internationally, he has coached Team Canada at the World International University Sports Federation (FISU) Games, including serving as head coach in 2012 in the Czech Republic.
Duggan also continues his role in the Lords athletic department as sport coordinator for baseball, softball, rugby, and basketball, alongside serving as the Lords IAASP coordinator.
