OSHAWA, Ont. – Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) and Dylan Pelissero (Ridgeway, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Feb. 14.
Broad, an event management student, led the Lords to their 3-1 victory over the Seneca Sting on Thursday night, which locked up the team’s OCAA east division title. Broad had a game-high 17 points, including 14 kills and three aces. The Lords will now wrap up their regular season on Wednesday in Barrie against Georgian. Durham will then be in North Bay Feb. 25-27 for the OCAA championship.
Pelissero, a sports administration student, had season-high numbers over the weekend in a pair of heartbreaking losses. On Saturday night, in an overtime loss to the Algonquin Thunder, he had nine points and 19 rebounds. Sunday afternoon Pelissero led the Lords with 21 points and six rebounds.
Durham will now return home to host the St. Lawrence Vikings on Friday night at 8 p.m. at the CRWC.
