OSHAWA, Ont. – Brandon Halliburton (Brampton, Ont.) has been named the Durham College student athlete of the week presented by Subway.
Halliburton, a first-year emergency services student, led the men's basketball team offensively in each of their victories at home. On Thursday in the team's home opener he put up 31 points in Durham's first victory of the season, 81-67 over the Georgian Grizzlies. On Saturday he scored 27, including nine fourth-quarter points, in their two-point victory over the Canadore Panthers to improve to 2-1.
The men's basketball team is back in action this Friday night when they travel to Kingston to face the St. Lawrence Vikings. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
