OSHAWA, Ont. – Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) of the men’s volleyball team and Dondre Huggins (Scarborough, Ont.) of the men’s basketball team have been named Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending December 3.
Pichl, a second-year emergency services student, had some of his best numbers since joining the Lords over the past week. He started with a career-high 18 points, which included eight blocks and seven kills, en route to a 3-2 win over the George Brown Huskies. On Thursday, he finished with a match-high five blocks in a 3-2 loss to the Centennial Colts.
With the split the Lords finished third in the OCAA east region after the first half with a 5-3 record and will be back in action on January 17 in Toronto against the George Brown Huskies.
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
