Durham College Athletics

OSHAWA, Ont. – Cassidy Nicholson-Clarke (Ajax, Ont.) of the women's volleyball team and Brandon Halliburton(Brampton, Ont.) of the men's basketball team have been named Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending January 21.

Halliburton, a second-year guard, had a solid three games for the Lords – who finished with a 1-2 record this week. Opening the week with an 84-81 loss to the first-place Seneca Sting, Halliburton put up 13 points alongside five rebounds. In another tough game against the second-place George Brown Huskies he led the Lords with 24 points. To wrap up the week he was the top point getter against the Canadore Panthers on Saturday, scoring 23 points on 9-for-17 from the floor. He was also 2-for-4 in three-point attempts.

For Durham men's basketball they join the women's team to host Bell Let's Talk Night on Wednesday. The games, which encourage fans to bring pots and pans to make some noise for mental health, tip off at 6 and 8 p.m. against the Loyalist Lancers.
