OSHAWA, Ont. – Julian Hinckson Jr. (Ajax, Ont.) of the men’s basketball team has been named the Durham College student-athlete of the week for the period ending Feb. 4.
 
The protection, security and investigation major started the week off with 12 points and eight boards in Durham’s 95-77 victory over the Fleming Knights in Peterborough. To wrap up the weekend, he had the team’s lone double-double in an 81-66 victory. Shooting 7-for-11 from the floor he dropped 18 points alongside his 11 rebounds. He also picked up two blocks.
 
Tuesday night, Hinckson Jr. and the Lords return home to host the Georgian Grizzlies. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. (women’s) and 8 p.m. (men’s). A win would all but sure up home court for Durham’s OCAA championship qualifying game.
 
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
