Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.) and Brandon Halliburton (Brampton, Ont.) were named the 2018-19 athletes of the year.

Halliburton became the first Durham men's basketball player to be named a CCAA All-Canadian since 2010-11. The perennial scoring threat won the OCAA east division scoring title averaging 22.2 points per game. He was also named an OCAA east first team all-star. Season highlights for Halliburton included tying a single game career-high 33 points in a 78-57 win over the Loyalist Lancers on Jan. 29, and becoming just the fourth player in DC men's basketball history to surpass 1,000 career points in Durham's 66-53 win over Canadore on Nov. 24.
