Coombes, a second-year sport management major, achieved a Top 25 result at the CCAA golf national championships, presented by PING, this past week. Competing at his first national championship with the Lords, Coombes produced a three round total of 231 (78, 77, 76) improving throughout each round of the event to finish in 23rd overall at +18. The Port Perry native was most impressive on the back-nine throughout the championship, continuously making up ground on the windy course at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor. Coombes completed the week as the top result on the men's side for Durham, who finished as a team in 9th place overall.
