OSHAWA, Ont. – Jeremy Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) and Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Nov. 16.
Hoekstra, a fitness and health promotions major, helped the Lords stay undefeated with nine kills in each of the team’s wins over the weekend. The captain also added five blocks over the weekend in Ottawa to move into second place on the Durham College all-time blocking charts, passing former teammate Brad Van Hartingsveldt. With 87 in his career, Hoekstra now sits behind Dave McMann who is the all-time blocking leader at Durham with 206 in his five-year career.
