Pelissero named Durham College student-athlete of the week

OSHAWA, Ont. â Dylan Pelissero (Ridgeway, Ont.) has been named the Durham College student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending March 8.

Pelissero, a protection and security student, was named a tournament all-star at the OCAA menâs basketball championship at Durham College over the weekend after helping lead the Lords to a bronze medal. The top-three finish is the first for Durham since 1997.

In the bronze medal game against the St. Lawrence Vikings he had 13 points and eight rebounds, but his best performance came the night before against the Seneca Sting. The âbig man in the middleâ had 29 points and 19 rebounds, which were career high numbers and earned him player of the game honours.

On Sunday morning against Fanshawe the 6â8 centre picked up nine points and eight rebounds.

The Lords season is now over, but Durham College is hosting the OCAA volleyball and basketball all-star games March 27-28. The rosters will be announced in coming weeks.
