Chilvers, Codrington named Durham College athletes of the week
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – Michael Chilvers (Sutton West, Ont.) and Jonathan Codrington (Courtice, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Sept. 27.
 
Chilvers, a second-year sport management student, had a hot bat this week for the men’s baseball team. In their 16-3 victory over the George Brown Huskies he was 3-for-3 at the plate, which included a grand slam and four RBIs. On Sunday in the team’s home opener he was 3-for-4 with one run and two RBIs.
 
This Wednesday Chilvers and the Lords are home again for a doubleheader against the George Brown Huskies beginning at 6 p.m. at Kinsmen Civic Memorial Stadium.
 
Codrington, a second-year construction carpentry student, made nine saves in Saturday’s men’s soccer victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield. The victory was his first clean sheet of the season and first regular season win for the Lords.
 
The team is now 1-2-1 this year as they travel to Ottawa and Kingston this weekend for matches against Algonquin and St. Lawrence.
