Prytulka, Legros named Durham College athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Jessica Prytulka (Kingston, Ont.) and Jake Legros (Whitby, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Oct. 18.
Prytulka, a second-year digital video production major, earned her fourth shutout of the season on Tuesday in the women’s soccer team’s 2-0 victory over the Fleming Knights. She followed that with a 10-save performance at home on Saturday against the CCAA No. 3 ranked Algonquin Thunder. Although the Lords lost the match 1-0, Prytulka was critical in giving Durham a chance to tie or win the game.
The women’s soccer team wraps up their OCAA season on Tuesday night at home against the Centennial Colts. Kick-off is 6 p.m. at Vaso’s Field.
Legros, a first-year mechanical engineering student, won the pitcher’s duel in the second half of the men’s baseball doubleheader at Humber on Saturday. The freshman allowed one earned run on five hits in his first career complete game. He also struck out one batter in the 2-1 win, his first as a Lord.
Durham’s next game will be this weekend at the OCAA baseball championship being hosted by the Fanshawe Falcons in London, Ont. from Oct. 23-24.
