The women’s basketball team now returns to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre for their home opener against the Seneca Sting on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Tip-off is 6 p.m.

Ropp, a first-year early childhood education student, was amongst the tournament leaders in multiple categories during the OCAA women’s softball championship hosted at Durham College over the weekend. Ropp finished the championship with .538 batting average and five RBIs, which included her going 5-for-5 at the plate with three RBIs in the Lords 11-3 victory over the Fanshawe Falcons on Friday night. In the championship game she was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. After the final Ropp was also named a championship all-star.

Omelanchuk, a first-year police foundations student, was named the championship MVP after the Lords won their first OCAA championship since 2011 on Saturday afternoon, a 7-3 win against the Humber Hawks. Omelanchuk led the tournament with a .700 batting average and seven RBIs at the plate. She was also tied for the most doubles over the two-day tournament with three.
