OSHAWA, Ont. – Competing in their final preseason contest before the start of the OCAA season, the Durham Lords men's basketball team fell 90-85 versus the Niagara Knights at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Wednesday night.
Despite shooting over 50 percent from the floor, and outrebounding the Knights 38-27, Durham was unable to come away with a win to finish their exhibition schedule. The Lords were undone by second chance points, being outscored 20-3 by Niagara off the offensive glass, while also being outscored 28-6 in bench scoring.
A highlight DC will be able to focus on though is the ability to spread the ball around, as the Lords picked up 20 assists on the night, compared to just three for the iso-heavy Niagara squad.
Next on the schedule for Durham is the regular season and home opener, welcoming the Georgian Grizzlies to the CRWC next Friday, Oct. 18. Tip-off for the men is set for 8 p.m., with the game being streamed on
OCAA LIVE.
