Lords unable to solve Hawks

OSHAWA, Ont. - In their final home game to end a five-series home stand, the Durham Lords men's baseball team dropped both games of a Wednesday evening doubleheader versus the Humber Hawks.

DC opened the weeknight matchup at Kinsmen Stadium with a hard-fought 7-4 loss, before having serious trouble with the Hawks in a tough 7-1 Game 2 defeat. Humber outhit Durham by 27-10 in the two contests combined as the Lords had no answer for the Hawks bats on the evening.

Durham now hit's the road for a long string of away games, beginning in London this Saturday, Sept. 21 against the Fanshawe Falcons. DC will be looking to pick up the important road wins with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
  Game 1

• Hawks catcher Jeff Siemms was a tough out for the Lords going 3-for-3 in Game 1, cashing in three RBI.
Game 2
• The Lords offence was stymied by Hawks pitching as only four Durham batters picked up a hit, led by a 1-for-2 outing at the plate for Jordan D'Amico (Courtice, Ont.) who crossed the plate for the lone Lords run.

• DC starting pitcher Jake Legros (Oshawa, Ont.) went six innings, allowing 14 hits and five earned runs, while striking out two in the loss.
