Durham struggle against stellar Hawks pitching

OSHAWA, ON - Hosting the Humber Hawks at Kinsmen Stadium on Friday night, the Durham Lords fell in back-to-back contests, 8-1 and 9-0.

In the doubleheader, DC faced stellar pitching from the Hawks, with Humber limiting the Lords to just seven combined hits, three total walks, and one unearned run over the two Friday evening contests. Though opportunities were there for Durham to score with 10 players left on base between the two games.

Opening their 2021 campaign with an 1-4 record, the Lords will look to bounce back on the road as they begin a four-game road trip in Sarnia versus the Lambton Lions next Friday, Oct. 1. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
  Game 1
• First-year second base Tyler Chong (Markham, ON) was the lone Lords batter to pick up multiple hits in the opening game, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a run.
