LONDON, ON - The Durham Lords women's softball team fell 11-0 to the St. Clair Saints and will attempt to qualify for the gold medal game via Saturday morning's bronze medal showdown at the 2022 OCAA Women's Softball Championship.
The Saints took the lead early and made it a very difficult hill to climb, scoring a trio of runs in each of the first two innings, before adding five more in the third inning to take an 11-run lead.
Durham held the Saints scoreless in the fourth inning, but were unable to add any runs and lost their first game of the double elimination championship.
On Saturday morning, the Lords will play in a rematch against the Humber Hawks at 10:00 AM. The winner will advance to the gold medal game against St. Clair, while the side that loses will take home a bronze medal.
The gold medal game is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday.
