OSHAWA, ON – The Durham Lords men's volleyball season wrapped up on Thursday evening in North York with a loss in four sets in the OCAA qualifiers against the Seneca Sting.
Seneca were hot off the start taking the first set 25-15, but Durham showed signs of life in the second set and kept it close but came up short by a 25-23 score. In the third set, the Lords picked up their first set win of the match to keep the season alive with a 25-23 win.
The fourth set would prove to be the final one in the 2021-22 season for the Lords, battling hard until the end but falling 25-21 to lose the best-of-five match.
Quinton Hudgins (Port Perry, ON) was the star in the match finishing with 18.0 points, accumulating 14 of the teams 30 kills on 24 total attempts, nine digs, two aces and two blocked shots.
Kyle Travis (Courtice, ON) was the clear playmaker for the Lords, tallying 24 of Durham's 25 assists on the night.
The Lords will go into the offseason with their sights set on preparing for the 2022-23 season.
