OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College is set to welcome the province's best collegiate golfers this fall, as the 2025 OCAA Golf Championships will be held at Watson's Glen Golf Club in Pickering from September 28 to October 1.
Durham is no stranger to hosting major collegiate golf competitions. The school has hosted the CCAA National Championship five times since the tournament's inception in 2000, most recently in 2022.Â
It will be the first time Durham has hosted the provincial championship in 26 years. The last time the Lords served as host was in 1999, when the event took place at Lakeridge Links Golf Club in Whitby.
"We're excited to bring the OCAA Golf Championships back to Durham," said Scott Dennis, Director of Athletics & Recreation at Durham College. "It's a great chance for our student-athletes to compete at home and for us to show off what we have to offer in the region."
On the course, the Lords have built a proud tradition, earning 25 team and 25 individual medals at the OCAA Championships in its history.
The timing is perfect for newly appointed head coach Lucas Pichl, who will begin his first season at the helm of the program this fall.
"It's an honour for Durham to welcome the province's best golfers to our home turf," said Pichl. "Watson's Glen is a challenging layout that will showcase elite talent and test every part of a player's game. I'm thrilled to step into this role with such a special opportunity on the horizon."
The 2025 championship promises to bring top-tier competition to one of the region's premier golf venues, with Durham aiming to add another chapter to its storied history.
