OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College is proud to host the second annual Future Lords All-Star Games on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Babcock Field.

The inaugural event in 2025 welcomed U8 to U11 players from across eastern Ontario, from Kingston to Pickering and communities in between, for four all-star games. Following a successful debut, Durham College is excited to build on the event's momentum this fall.

"The Future Lords All-Star Games bring incredible energy to our campus and create a memorable experience for young athletes and their families," said Scott Dennis, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "It's an opportunity to showcase our outstanding facilities, introduce players to the Durham College community and inspire the next generation of student-athletes while celebrating the game of baseball."

The day is designed to celebrate youth baseball by providing players with a fun and memorable experience. Participants will have the opportunity to play multiple positions, receive a commemorative player package, enjoy a BBQ, and have their memories captured by a Durham College photographer.

Admission is free for players, coaches, and spectators. Families attending are encouraged to bring a donation for the Durham College Student Association Food Bank, which provides full-time students in need with non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products.

Babcock Field, located at the south end of Durham College's Oshawa campus, is the home of the Durham Lords women's softball program, which has captured 20 OCAA championships. The facility recently underwent significant upgrades and is named in honour of long-time Durham College Athletic Director Ken Babcock.

The event reflects Durham College's ongoing commitment to supporting youth sport while fostering connections with future student-athletes throughout Durham Region and beyond.
The showcase will feature teams named in honour of Hall of Famers Jim Lutton and Sam Dempster, both of whom are expected to attend portions of the event.

Lutton has dedicated decades to the Oshawa Legion Minor Baseball Association, serving as a coach, umpire, board member, and president. His extraordinary commitment to the game has earned him induction into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame, a baseball field bearing his name at Lakeview Park, and the Jim Lutton Tournament, which annually attracts top 9U teams from across Ontario.

Dempster served as head coach of the Durham College men's baseball program for 28 seasons before retiring in 2020. He was inducted into the Durham College Sports Hall of Fame in 2023 and later the OCAA Hall of Fame. Beyond the collegiate level, Dempster participated annually in Major League Baseball's Envoy Program, helping grow the game throughout Africa and Europe. He also served as a scout for both the New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers during his coaching career.
