Rosemary Theriault

Rosemary is currently an assistant coach at Durham College and was recently inducted into the Durham College Sports Hall of Fame and named 2017 PWSA Coach of the Year. 

Theriault has definitely given a lot back to the sport:
  • Has NCCP Level 3 in softball and NCCP Level 2 ringette.
     
  • Has been a softball coach for house league and rep teams for over 40 years and ringette for over 20 years
     
  • Her team won several provincial championships in the senior division for softball and in the past seven years, her team brought home the gold from the Canadian championship in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 while taking home the silver in 2016.
     
  • Won numerous medals in ringette at both the A and AA level.
     
  • Was named the head coach of the Canadian women’s open softball team for the Maccabiah Games which were held in Israel winning silver in 2013 and 2017, and upon the Canadian team receiving their medals at the games this year, Israel Softball inducted her into the Maccabiah Softball Hall of Fame.  She is the first woman to have earned this honour in its history.
     
  • Currently assistant coach with open AA ringette team in Paris, Ontario
     
  • coached for North American teams at the World Cup in France and Holland.
     
  • Was a member of the World Indoor Softball Championship team in France in 2000.
     
  • Instructed softball clinics in Holland for five years.
     
  • Selected as one of the pool coaches for Team Ontario.
     
  • Recipient of a PWSA Outstanding Service Award in 2002.
     
  • Recipient of the PWSA Volunteer of year in 2004.
     
  • Recipient of the 150th Service Award from PWSA
     
  • Inducted into the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame 2004.
     
  • Inducted into Ontario Ringette Hall of Fame 1998 as Community Builder.
     
  • Recipient of the Queen’s 125th Anniversary Medal 1992
     
  • Presented with the Women of Distinction Award from the YWCA Durham in 2000
     
  • Was an executive member of the provincial women’s softball association.
     
  • Was an executive member of the Whitby Girls Softball Association and the North York Women’s Softball League
     
  • Founding member of the Brooklin Whitby Girls Rep Fastball Association o/a Whitby Eagles in 1995
