Kauri LaFontaine

LaFontaine joined the Lords’ coaching staff after playing her final season at Durham College in 2014 where she was named the overall athlete of the year. She made an immediate impact on the program as she averaged 15.1 points per game, while shooting 40 per cent from the field. LaFontaine also ranked second in the league in assists (81) and ninth in defensive rebounds (110). LaFontaine played a big role in leading the women's basketball team to the OCAA championship for the first time in seven years as they match a program high in overall wins with 25. Her stellar performance this season earned her a spot on the first-team OCAA all-star squad. LaFontaine was also named the women's basketball MVP.
 
After playing one season with the University of Toronto, LaFontaine transferred to Laurentian and had great success. In 66 conference games with the Voyageurs, she averaged 7.73 points per game while recording 247 rebounds and 164 assists.
 
After her playing career, she coached a variety of camps and clinics including the Gold Medal Camp in Durham as well as OBA Mega Hoops. She also coached the midget development program regional team in 2010 and at the club level with the Wildcat Boys under-12 rep team in 2011-12 followed by the Wildcat Junior Women’s rep team in 2012-13.
