OCAA Men's Volleyball: Durham defeats Trent 3-0 PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The OCAA season opener for the Durham College men's volleyball team went exactly as planned for
George Matsusaki's squad as the Lords earned a 3-0 sweep over the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough Wednesday night.
Led by setter
Matthew Gibson (Oshawa, Ont.), who joined the team after graduating from Western University, the Lords' offence was efficient posting a .447 hitting percentage. Gibson finished the match with 23 assists, while adding four blocks and two kills to his totals.

Jeremy Hoekstra (Cobourg, Ont.) had a big night with 12 kills, four blocks and an ace while
Matthew McGirr (Brampton, Ont.) recorded nine kills and a block.
Durham dominated net play as they came up with 16 stuff blocks, which included four from
Jordan McFarlane (Pickering, Ont.) who made his return to the line-up.
There won't be much time to celebrate the win as Durham (1-0) will host the Seneca Sting (0-0) on Friday, Oct. 24 for their 2014/15 home opener. Game time is 8 p.m. following the women's match at the CRWC.
