OCAA Men's Volleyball
Durham defeats Seneca 3-0 OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College men's volleyball has yet to lose a set this season.
It's only early, two matches in, but the Lords have won each of their opening matches 3-0. Most recently they won their home opener against the Seneca Sting on Friday night.
Jeremy Hoekstra led the team in kills with nine, while
Luke Kilbourn and
Jordan McFarlane chipped in six apiece.
Matthew Gibson,
Nick Coleman and
Petrus Kuypers each had two blocks.
Leading Seneca in kills was Jordan Darlington with six. He also led the team in blocks, posting three.
The Lords opened the match with a 25-19 first set, which they followed with an identical effort in the second set. Leading the match 2-0, they took the lead to start the third.
Seneca tied it twice, 6-6 and 7-7 before Durham started to pull away. The Sting called a timeout midway through the set after the Lords took a 12-9 lead. From there they stretched their lead to 19-10, eventually winning it 25-14.
Durham's next match is Thursday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. against the Loyalist Lancers.
