OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team won their fourth straight match on Sunday, a straight-set victory over the visiting La Cité Coyotes.
Lucia Kalmeyer (Oshawa, Ont.) and
Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) led the Lords with seven kills apiece, while each added a block.
Kristen Curtis (Frankford, Ont.) was dominant at the net for Durham in the match, leading the team with six blocks. She also picked up two kills.
La Cité's offence was led by Stephanie Peladeau's four kills, with Tanya Carriere picking up three kills and four blocks for the Coyotes. Annie Meloche earned two service aces.
Durham opened the match with a 25-19 first set win, before a 25-20 second set.
In the third the Lords rolled to a 25-16 victory to take the match 3-0.
The Lords will now host the Georgian Grizzlies on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the CRWC. This is their final game of the first half of the season, as the team will have a break until Jan. 2-3 when they host the Adidas Cup before starting up the second half of conference play.
Prior to and during Thursday's match the team will also be raffling off Toronto Raptors tickets in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. They will be in The Pit from 12-3 p.m., with the match scheduled for 6 p.m.
