OSHAWA, ON – A huge second half for the Durham Lords improves their men's basketball record to 6-1 with a 92-84 win over the Algonquin Wolves.
It was 45-37 for the Wolves through 20 minutes, but the Lords came out of the halftime break on a mission and it showed. Durham scored 25 points in the third quarter while holding Algonquin to 15 and shooting 50.0%, an improvement on their 42.1% shooting in the first half. The Lords would add another 30 points in the fourth quarter to secure the win, on the backs of Oshane Taylor-Douglas (Scarborough, ON) and Angelo Sarsonas (Scarborough, ON) who combined for 20 points in the final frame.
Taylor-Douglas led the team with 27 points, eight steals, six assists and five rebounds. Adam Hosseini (Toronto, ON) finished with 21 points, five assists, three rebounds and a. steal while Sarsonas posted 19 points, six assists, three rebounds and a steal.
Mark Stoop (Oshawa, ON) made it four Lords in double-digit territory with 10 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and one steal.
The Lords stay at home for a matchup against the La Cité Coyotes at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening.
