Durham beat Canadore in rematch of last seasons bronze medal showdown

OSHAWA, ON - The Durham Lords women's volleyball team win their fourth in as many games with a four set win over the Canadore Panthers.

In a rematch of the 2022 OCAA women's volleyball bronze medal match, Durham took the first set 25-14 and went up by two sets with a 25-16 win in the second set.

With their backs against the wall, the Panthers squeezed out a 26-24 win on extra serves to keep their hopes alive but a 25-17 win for the Lords in the fourth set wrapped up the night in Durham's favour.

Katie Stewart (Gananoque, ON) was the largest contributor offensively, registering 16 kills on 33 total attack attempts. Stewart also served four aces and was second on the team in digs with eight. Jessica Joensen (Brooklin, ON) and Mia Hildrebandt (Winnipeg, MB) each posted seven kills.

Showing off her playmaking ability, Brooke Young (Chestermere, AB) finished the night with a season-high 38 assists.

Durham was able to take advantage of plenty of points off aces, with Madison Harvey (Ajax, ON) serving five and Joensen serving four. Harvey also led the team in digs with nine.

Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON) blocked two shots, helping the Lords be a force at the net.
