Barrie, ON – After beginning the OCAA season with three wins, the Lords have fallen short in their second consecutive match, losing to the Georgian Grizzlies in four sets.
Georgian took the first set 25-19, but the Lords quickly bounced back in the second set with a 25-20 win of their own to tie it up at one. A dominant 25-6 third set by the Grizzlies shaped the rest of the match. Durham fought back in the fourth set but ultimately fell 25-14.
William Egan (Cobden, ON) and
Quinton Hudgins (Port Perry, ON) led the team with seven kills each in the match.
Tyler Jegen (Calgary, AB) registered 16 assists and served five aces. Notably,
Michael Penney (Whitby, ON) recorded 16 digs.
The Lords will look to bounce back on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre as the George Brown Huskies come to town.
