Oshawa, ON – The Durham College men's volleyball team improved to 4-2 on the season after defeating the George Brown Huskies three sets to one.
A nail-biter first set saw Durham squeak out a 25-23 win over George Brown, before the Huskies bounced back with a 25-13 win in the second set. Extra serves were needed in the third set but the Lords came out on top 29-27, before finishing it off 25-19 in the fourth and final set.
Quinton Hudgins (Port Perry, ON) stood out with 18 kills on 34 total attack attempts. He also served six aces and recorded 15 digs.
Tyler Jegen (Calgary, AB) also hit double digit kills with 10, serving six aces and registering 16 digs and two blocks.
Kyle Travis (Courtice, ON) assisted 19 times, accounting for 73% of Durham's assists in the match.
Durham will hit the court again on March 1
st as the Lords head to Seneca College to meet with the Sting at 8:00 PM.
