North York, ON – Now nationally ranked, the Durham Lords went on the road and defeated the Seneca Sting in three sets.
Seneca put up a fight in all three sets but no matter what was thrown at the Lords, Durham were able to find a way to reach the coveted 25-point mark all three times.
After taking the first set 25-17, Durham found themselves up 14-8 in the second set. The Sting really showed the fight they had in them at this point, scoring eight consecutive points to take the lead. But it was also here that the Lords proved their resiliency and bounced back to take the second set 25-23. The third set was nearly just as close, but the Lords completed the sweep with a 25-22 win.
Aislinn Pedersen (Hamilton, ON) led the way offensively with 12 kills on 24 total attack attempts and two serving aces, but
Katie Stewart (Gananoque, ON) was not far behind with nine kills on 26 total attack attempts.
Digs were spread all around the scoresheet on Tuesday evening, with Stewart recording 16,
Devyn Fraser (Uxbridge, ON) picking up 10 and Pederson recording eight.
The Lords blocked five shots in the match, with the reigning Athlete of the Week
Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON) blocking three and
