OSHAWA, ON – In an evening that the Lords recognized their graduating seniors, Durham completed their sixth three-set sweep of the season with a win over the Algonquin Wolves.

The Lords kept Algonquin under 20 in all three sets, defeating the Wolves 25-16; 25-15; 25-17 to the continue their winning streak as they sit atop the OCAA East.

Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON) led her team in kills with 12 on 18 total attempts, while
Mia Hildebrandt (Winnipeg, MB) had nine and
Cassidy Unrau (Port Coquitlam, BC) and
Katie Stewart (Gananoque, ON) weren't far behind with six each.

Jill Batsford (Kingston, ON) and
Brooke Young (Chestermere, AB) split playmaking duties, with 15 and 17 assists respectively. Jessica Anatol (Ajax, ON) recorded all three aces in the match
Alisia Lush () led the way in digs with eight.

Prior to the match, the Durham Lords recognized and honoured their five graduating seniors.

Jill Batsford
Jill is a Pre-Health Sciences student that comes to us from Kingston. She will be pursing Nursing next year at Ontario Tech University. Going into her final two games of the season, Jill has accumulated 43 set assists this season including a big 19-assist performance against Georgian, served 6 aces and grabbed 13 digs.

Beth Munshaw
Beth is also a Pre-Health Sciences student and a homegrown talent from Maxwell Heights Secondary in Oshawa. Beth was a walk on athlete that made a big impression to the coaching staff and her teammates. She made her presence known as well at the Adidas Cup in the fall, tallying 9 digs against Conestoga and she's appeared in five of six matches for the Lords in a shortened regular season.

Emily Batten
Emily a Supply Chain & Operations Management major from Ajax. Through two seasons at Durham, she has tallied 24 kills on 53 total attacks for 32.0 points. Emily can always be seen with a smile. She always wanted to be a Lord and Tony had a pleasure in coaching her. She's a valuable member of the team and we look forward to seeing what's in store for her future.

Katie Stewart
Prior to this season, Katie joined us from Fanshawe College where she brings a wealth of experience in the OCAA Championship and earned 2017-18 rookie of the year honours. With Durham, the Entrepreneurship & Small Business major from Gananoque registered 58.0 points this season, recording 43 kills on 131 total attempts, 56 digs, 8 serving aces and 7 blocks. The outside hitter has been a key piece on the team all season and will continue to be as we look ahead to the OCAA Championships.

Devyn Fraser
Last but certainly not least, Devyn is an Interactive Media Design student from Uxbridge. She's a dual athlete who earned a bronze medal in the women's team tournament at the 2021 CCAA Golf Nationals and is in her fourth year with the volleyball team. Over her four seasons, including a shortened senior year, she has recorded 58 assists and 483 digs. In 2018-19, she earned OCAA East First Team All-Star honours. Not only is Devyn a valued part on the team she has been named All Academic Awards winner numerous times as well.

It will be a quick turnaround for Durham as the Lords are back in action for their regular season finale against the visiting La Cité Coyotes on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
