OSHAWA, ON – For the third time in 13 days, the Durham Lords matched up with and defeated the George Brown Huskies – this time by a 76-37 score to book their ticket to the OCAA quarter-finals.
 
In the first quarter, Durham picked up where they left off in their two previous meetings with George Brown – dominating 26-3 in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Huskies fought back with a more even second quarter, but the Lords still commanded a 43-19 lead going into halftime.
 
Rusheda Gibbs (Winnipeg, MB) and Marie Stasiuk (Cobourg, ON) both hit double-digit points by halftime, with both players scoring 10 points each.
 
The third quarter was kind to the Lords, outscoring their opponent 22-6 before finishing the game off in a balanced fourth quarter.
 
Brianna Morrison (Oshawa, ON) was the team's leading scorer with 17 points, while Stasiuk finished with 16, Gibbs finished with 14 and Onika Leveridge (Scarborough, ON) also recorded 14. Leveridge also led the charge on the rebounding effort, grabbing 10 of Durham's 40 boards in the game.
 
The Lords are back at it on Saturday in a crossover match-up against the undefeated St. Clair Saints, who are the #1 seed in the OCAA West.
