ETOBICOKE, ON – The Durham Lords women's rugby team open their season with three victories on Saturday, defeating Loyalist, Seneca and Fleming by a combined score of 62-5 through three matches.
Beginning the day with an early 10:00 AM kickoff, Durham blanked the Loyalist Lancers 40-0, that would be the win of the largest margin of any game at the women's rugby opening weekend.
Without much time to rest, the Lords hit the pitch again and continued a perfect score line as they defeated the Seneca Sting by a 12-0 score.
The Lords finished the day against the Fleming Knights, conceding their first try of the day but still scoring enough to stay unbeaten through the first day, winning 10-5.
Durham is scheduled for another five games on Sunday in Etobicoke, playing against the St. Lawrence Surge at 10:30 AM, the Algonquin Wolves at 1:30 PM and the Humber Hawks at 3:00 PM.
Thompson Rugby Park in Oshawa will be home to the next weekend series of women's rugby matches on the weekend of October 1-2.
