OSHAWA, ON - On Senior's Day, the Durham College men's rugby team remain unbeaten with a 58-5 win at Thompson Rugby Park over the Algonquin Wolves.
Cole Harris (Uxbridge, ON) opened the scoring very early with his second try scored of the season. Tyler Janes (Pickering, ON), Andrex Kellar (Cobourg, ON) and Liam Spafford (Oshawa, ON) continued the scoring to put the Lords ahead 24-0 before the Wolves put themselves on the scoreboard.
Sawyer Hopkins (Whitby, ON) added one more try to give the Lords a 31-5 lead going into halftime.
Coming out of the break, Harris scored his second of the match before Hopkins added a second on the afternoon for his third try of the season.
After Terrell Carter (Oshawa, ON) added to the scoring, Tre Connell (Whitby, ON) gave his teammates another reason to celebrate after scoring his first of the season.
The freshman Jack Shepard (Kingston, ON) scored one more for good measure, securing the 58-5 win for the Lords.
Janes successfully kicked the ball through the goal post three times for a trio of converts, while Xavier Benjamin (Whitby, ON) did it once.
The Lords travel to Kingston to wrap up the regular season against the St. Lawrence Surge on Saturday, October 21 at 1:00 PM.
