OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords put on a clinic in a dominant 100-61 win over the George Brown Huskies at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre (CRWC) on Wednesday evening.
From the opening tip-off, the Lords controlled the game, using a balanced offensive attack and suffocating defence to dismantle their opponents.
Leading the charge was Rashane Smith, who delivered an outstanding performance with 20 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting, along with five rebounds, three assists, and a pair steals.
The Lords also received a massive boost from their bench, highlighted by Caleb Carter, who drained five three-pointers on his way to 14 points. Rudy Fakih added 12 points, while Glodi Kashala anchored the paint with nine rebounds and solid defence in limited minutes.
Durham's unselfish play was evident, as they recorded an impressive 30 assists on 44 made field goals.
Defensively, the Lords were relentless, forcing 18 turnovers and racking up 10 steals. They out-rebounded George Brown 47-37, led by Kashala and Zachary Morris, who combined for 17 boards.
Regular season action will take a pause for the holiday break, resuming on Friday, January 10 when the Lords host the Loyalist Lancers at the CRWC for an 8:00 PM tip-off.
