TORONTO – Chris Badibengi (Oshawa, Ont.) scored a dramatic 90th-minute equalizer to earn the Durham College men's soccer team a 2-2 draw against the George Brown Huskies on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.
The 6'1" forward powered home a header, leaping above the Husky defenders to connect with a corner from Aidan Castillo (Mount Albert, Ont.).
Badibengi's goal marked his second of the match, having previously tied the game early in the first half.
George Brown dominated the first half, outshooting Durham 11-2, but the second half saw the Lords turn the tide, firing eight shots and finding the back of the net twice.
Garrett Werner (Oshawa, Ont.) was solid in goal, making six crucial saves to help secure the draw.
Durham now holds a 2-1-2 record, putting them third in the OCAA east region standings. Meanwhile, the defending OCAA east region champions, the George Brown Huskies, remain winless with one loss and three draws.
Next up, the Lords will host the Fleming Knights on Wednesday night at Vaso's Field. Fleming, struggling with a 0-5 record and being outscored 45-0, will look for their first points of the season. Kick-off is set for 8:15 p.m.
