Lords back on track with three wins in Kitchener

KITCHENER, Ont. – The Durham College women's rugby sevens team showcased their dominance on the field, securing three impressive victories to improve their season record to 9-1.

The Lords started the day with a win over Conestoga 33-5, and then went on to shut out Seneca 46-0, and wrapped up the day with a commanding 43-5 victory against the Humber Hawks.

Meanwhile, St. Lawrence maintained their undefeated streak at 10-0 after also going 3-0. The much-anticipated OCAA gold medal rematch between the Lords and Surge will take place next week in Oshawa, as Durham hosts two days of OCAA rugby at Thompson Field on Saturday and Sunday.

Durham's offence was well-distributed, with several players contributing tries in each match. The Lords have now accumulated 402 points this season, inching closer to breaking the OCAA record for most points scored in a season, a record they set in 2022 with 578 points.

Heading into the weekend, Durham had four of the top six scorers in the league. Amber Edgerton leads the team in second place with 60 points, followed closely by Shay Morris (3rd), Kiera Kuebeck (5th), and Camryn Wood (6th).

Durham will host 16 games next weekend, beginning on Saturday at 10 a.m.
