OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords dropped their showdown against the Centennial Colts on Tuesday night at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre.
Despite a strong crowd and early energy, the Lords couldn't keep pace with the hot-shooting visitors, who connected on nearly 55 per cent of their field goals and nine three-pointers en route to a 95-63 finish.
Durham found success in stretches, especially in the third quarter when they produced 18 points behind better ball movement and defensive intensity.
Jasean Elliott continued his promising start to the season, finishing with a team-high 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Rudy Fakih also added 16 points to go with five rebounds and three assists, while Rashane Smith recorded eight points and eight boards.
The Lords worked hard on the glass with 12 offensive rebounds, creating second-chance opportunities, but struggled to convert from beyond the arc, shooting 9-for-38 as a team.
The bench provided a spark with 24 points, showing depth and effort late in the game.
Durham will look to regroup as they hit the road on Saturday for a matchup against the George Brown Huskies at 3:00 PM.
