TORONTO, Ont. - The Durham Lords improve to 6-1 on the season on Saturday afternoon, earning an 84-70 road win at George Brown.
Durham controlled the pace for most of the game, moving the ball well and turning defensive pressure into points throughout the night.
Jasean Elliott delivered a standout showing with 24 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals, setting the tone on both ends of the floor. He attacked the paint consistently, got to the line often and disrupted George Brown's guards all game long.
Rudy Fakih added 17 points, hitting two shots from deep and contributing three assists and three steals. Rashane Smith finished with 11 points on efficient shooting and grabbed four boards, while Desson Spencer added nine points and pulled down six rebounds, including five on the offensive glass.
John Dayo chipped in nine points and two assists, giving the Lords timely offence in the second half. Rahsaan Chambers added five points, four rebounds and a block.
Nathaniel Richardson worked hard on the glass with six rebounds and six points.
As a team, Durham forced 25 turnovers and collected 16 steals, converting defensive stops into momentum-shifting runs. Their work on the boards and steady poise late helped them hold their lead and close out a strong road win.
The Lords have two home games scheduled to close out the fall semester, hosting St. Lawrence on November 21st at 8:00 PM and Loyalist on November 25th at 8:00 PM.
