OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham head into the winter break in style on Tuesday night, delivering a complete team performance in a 105-80 win over Loyalist at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre (CRWC).
The Lords set the tone immediately with a 31-point opening quarter, pushing the pace, moving the ball, and attacking the paint with confidence. Even as Loyalist showed flashes from beyond the arc, Durham's response was steady and composed, maintaining control through all four quarters.
Caleb Carter provided an early spark with a 15-point first quarter on his way to 22, knocking down four threes and stretching the defence every time he touched the ball.
Inside, Desson Spencer was relentless on the glass, finishing with 15 rebounds and 13 points while anchoring a front court that outrebounded Loyalist 51-34.
The Lords used those extra possessions well, piling up 50 points in the paint and generating second-chance looks that kept the pressure on.
Durham's ball movement was a bright spot all night, highlighted by John Dayo's strong floor-general performance. Dayo tallied eight assists, five steals, and eight rebounds to go with 11 points, driving the tempo and creating chances in transition.
Jasean Elliott and Rashane Smith each added 20 points, with Elliott heating up in the third quarter and Smith earning crucial trips to the line to help stretch the lead.
Off the bench, Rudy Fakih gave the Lords another burst with 11 points, six rebounds, and active defence that helped fuel the late run.
Durham will next see the court on Tuesday, January 13 at Centennial College before returning to the CRWC on Friday, January 23 against the Algonquin Wolves to kickoff the 2026 calendar year.
