BARRIE, Ont. - The men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season, losing 89-81 against the Georgian Grizzlies.
The Lords were dominant in the paint, scoring 42 points inside and winning the rebounding battle 48-32. However, Georgian capitalized on key possessions in the final minutes to overtake Durham and secure the victory.Â
Mark Stoop had a standout performance, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds while adding four assists and a block. His consistent effort on both ends of the floor kept Durham in the game, particularly in the second half.Â
Caleb Carter added 15 points, shooting 4-for-8 from three-point range, and went a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Javade Marne contributed 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals, applying defensive pressure that created scoring opportunities for the Lords.
Rashane Smith provided valuable support with 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Meanwhile, Miles Hall dished out five assists and scored six points, helping maintain the Lords' offensive flow.Â
Despite these efforts, the Lords struggled with ball security, committing 20 turnovers that Georgian converted into critical points.
