OSHAWA, Ont. - Elizabeth McFarland of the women's volleyball team has been named the Durham College student-athlete of the week for the period ending March 9, 2025.

McFarland, an an Accounting - Business Bachelor of Commerce student, earned player of the match honours in a 3-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties in the bronze medal side of the bracket at the 2025 CCAA Women's Volleyball Championship. She stood out with nine kills and a .333 hitting percentage, along with three service aces, one block and nine digs for 13.0 points. In matches against VIU and the eventual champion Lakeland Rustlers, McFarland combined for 14.0 points and a .359 hitting percentage.

With the conclusion of the national championship, the volleyball season has come to an end.

The Durham College athletes of the week is presented by Subway, located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
