Ken Babcock Scholarship Fund and DCSA Food Bank benefits from All-Star Games

OSHAWA, Ont. – Youth baseball took centre stage at Babcock Field on Saturday as Durham College welcomed players, families, and fans for the inaugural Future Lords All-Star Games.

The event brought together youth players from the 8U, 9U, 10U and 11U levels for a full day of fun, development, and memorable experiences. Families filled the stands to cheer on the rising stars, with fans treated to an atmosphere that blended competition, celebration, and community support.

Participants received a special gift, and enjoyed a BBQ, all while DC's photographer Jay Buck captured the action. Teams were named in honour of Hall of Fame inductees Jim Lutton and Sam Dempster, both of whom made appearances during the day.

Beyond the action on the field, the showcase made a significant impact off it. Fans came out in full support, bringing donations for the Durham College Student Association Support Hub Food Bank. Thanks to this generosity, the Support Hub, which partners with Feed the Need in Durham to provide fresh produce, meat, dairy, non-perishable items, and hygiene products to full-time students, received a substantial restock heading into the fall semester.

Meanwhile, student-athletes and game day staff worked tirelessly at the grill, helping raise nearly $2,000 for the Ken Babcock Scholarship Fund.

"The fans showed up big time for the first Future Lords All-Star Games," said Scott Dennis, Director of Athletics & Recreation at Durham College." It was an amazing day for baseball and the community."

With the success of the inaugural event, the Future Lords All-Star Games have already set the stage to become a tradition that unites youth baseball, Durham College Athletics, and the local community.
