KINGSTON, Ont. - Durham put together a complete performance on Saturday afternoon, pulling away early and rolling to an 83-54 win over the St. Lawrence Surge.
The Lords led 18-13 after one, stretched it to 37-26 at the half, then blew the game open with a 29-14 run in the third quarter to take full command heading into the final frame.
Jasean Elliott paced the offence with 16 points, adding nine rebounds, five assists and three steals while keeping the ball moving and applying pressure defensively.
Durham had balanced support behind him, with Rashane Smith, Romell Russell and Matthew Iacono each scoring 10 points.
Caleb Carter added eight points in seven minutes, while Javade Marne finished with eight points, five steals and three assists, helping spark multiple stretches where the Lords turned stops into quick scores.
Durham shot 54.0% from the field and knocked down seven threes.
The Lords also forced 25 turnovers and came away with 15 steals, creating 35 points off turnovers and ensuring the pace stayed in their favour the rest of the way.
Algonquin comes to town on Friday, January 23 as the Lords take on the Wolves at 8:00 p.m. for Jersey Night.
