OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham made it a memorable Jersey Night at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre on Friday evening, rolling to a 109-76 win over the Algonquin Wolves.
The Lords set the tone early, moved the ball with purpose and steadily built separation before breaking things open after halftime.
Durham's offence was sharp from the opening quarter and only got more efficient as the night went on. The Lords shot 54.3% from the floor and knocked down 15 three-pointers on 32 attempts, using pace and quick decisions to generate clean looks.Â
Also turning defence into offence, the Lords forced 18 turnovers and coming away with 12 steals.
Jasean Elliott paced the attack with 20 points in 24 minutes, adding nine assists and three steals as he consistently created advantages for teammates.Â
Caleb Carter finished with 17 points and hit five threes, while Javade Marne matched him with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and added two assists.Â
John Dayo chipped in 14 points, five rebounds and three assists, knocking down four threes.
The game's turning point came in the third quarter, when Durham poured in 37 points and pushed the margin out of reach.Â
Desson Spencer contributed 11 points and five rebounds, while Rahsaan Chambers added seven points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks to help anchor strong minutes on both ends.Â
It will be a short turnaround for the Lords as Durham hosts the La Cité Coyotes on Saturday at 2 p.m.
