NORTH YORK, Ont. - Durham dropped an 87-73 decision at Seneca on Tuesday night despite a comeback attempt in the fourth quarter.
Seneca set the tone early, taking a 20-15 lead after one and stretching it to 46-32 at halftime.
The Sting kept control coming out of the break and led 65-46 after three, before Durham exploded in the fourth with 27 points to end the night.
Durham was led by Jasean Elliott with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Caleb Carter added 15 points with a pair of triples.
Elliott etched his name into the record books on Tuesday, surpassing O'Shane Taylor-Douglas as the Durham College men's basketball all-time career leader in assists with 202.
Matthew Iacono chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks, and Rashane Smith finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four steals.
The Lords did generate extra chances with 22 offensive rebounds and forced 13 turnovers, but couldn't fully turn that into points on the scoreboard.
Durham will return to the court in Peterborough on Wednesday, February 4 at 8 p.m. against the Fleming Phoenix.
