Elit, an activation and coordination in gerontology student, has become a more consistent player for Durham in the middle as of late and showed that again in the 3-0 victory on Thursday for the women's volleyball team. She led the Lords in blocks, had an ace and picked up four kills against the Lancers. She was also the Lords most efficient at the net, finishing with a .444 hitting percentage.

Both volleyball teams will now prepare for their final home game of the season on Feb. 12 against the Canadore Panthers. The graduating seniors from both teams will be recognized during a short ceremony.

The Durham College athlete of the week awards are presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
